What Happens With LinkedIn Content? Here's My Weekly Breakdown Analysing my Posts

NEW WEEK Commencing 05 August

My Weekly Blog: What Do I Do with Content Each Week?

Every week I look at the content that I have created on LinkedIn and I give a review of how each individual post has done. I do this so that I understand what's going on, but I also do this so I can share with you what works, and what doesn't, and give you some ideas on what to create.

Do you review your own content?

The engagement has been better this week, with some posts receiving a load of reactions, comments, and shares. Others reminded us about the power of staying true to ourselves. Remember that authenticity and community engagement are what you should be aiming for on LinkedIn.

Views; Previous Week My views have been pretty similar with 2,156 people viewing my profile in the last 90 days. I did have more people looking at my profile this week though with 154 people looking this week. Down by just 9%, again little activity.

Views This Week Seems to be a similar pattern this week too. 2,140 people viewing my profile in the last 90 days. Only down 1% this week, so I need to be more active next week eh?

Followers

In the previous Week 7,874 which is another increase of 25 followers again, not many, but no less activity.

This Week - 7,918 which is another increase of 44 followers again a few more but not as many as before the summer started.

351 Search appearances for the previous week! 393 searches this week, so increasing a bit.

Hashtag Follows Last Week 166

Hashtag Follows This Week 167 up 1 again!

SATURDAY 5 August 371 impressions

Saturday was all about letting you know about my LinkedIn surgery sessions. Remember, every first Monday of the month, I host a totally free drop-in surgery on LinkedIn. It's a chance for all of us to have a good chat about LinkedIn, and I answer your question. I even do profile reviews, and this month was all about diving into the featured section.

To get the word out, I used the LinkedIn Events tool, and that's what my post on Saturday was all about. I started off with a catchy hook and then dug into some questions about the Events tool itself. I also kept it easy to read by using bullet points.

Not the best-performing post, but the event tool does give you the opportunity to invite people with notifications going directly into their notifications. Try it next time you have an event.

Do you have the Featured Section set up on your LinkedIn Profile?

Do you have a question regarding using LinkedIn or just want to find out more?

Every month I run a LinkedIn Drop-in Surgery to help you get more from LinkedIn. It's on Zoom so it's convenient too.

It's also a networking opportunity and a safe environment to ask all your LinkedIn questions.

Here are some of the things that I can help with in these surgeries

💚 Answer your LinkedIn questions

💛 Offer a free live review of your profile

💚 Give feedback on a recent post

💛 Show you the best ways to optimize your profile

💚 Explain how to get clients on LinkedIn

💛 Give you some LinkedIn outreach strategies

If you want a hand, or just fancy catching up then block out 30 minutes this Monday and pop into the Zoom for a natter and find out about this awesome Featured Section.

Tell your friends ❤️ 🙏

SUNDAY 6 August 1,819 impressions

Do you do anything different? I decided to show you an insight into my offbeat side. I'm part of a street theatre group, and during Folk Week in Sidmouth, we put on these unusual performances. So, I thought, why not let you in on the quirky side of my weekends?

I kicked off with a fun question – do you have any offbeat hobbies, unconventional pastimes, or just something plain old weird? Then, I shared a snapshot of me with my Mummer friends from the group, all dressed up for our show.

Because of the fancy dress, this got more views than normal.

What could you share?

Do you have a whacky hobby, a strange pastime or just plain weird?

My Name is Ashley - I am a MUMMER.

This is me with a couple of the other Mummers. St George and the Arabian Knight. I am dressed as King Tipu.

Our Mummer's play dates back over 200 years but we keep this crazy tradition going during Folk Week here in Sidmouth.

Today is the day that we perform the play around the town, entertaining the visitors with our madness and mayhem and forgotten lines.

And a bit of ad-libbing.

I am so honoured to be part of this tradition, but it's a bit difficult to explain.😂

What do you get up to at weekends? (keep it clean)

Is it as strange as The Mummers?

If you are near Sidmouth today, then pop along to eh Anchor Inn for midday to see our first performance!!

MONDAY 7 August 2,643 impressions

Monday is video day, and this week was something really different. I've noticed a drop in engagement with previous videos, so this time, I decided to mix it up a bit. By doing the video dressed as King Tipu I got great engagement. In fact, this was my best Monday video yet.

I am now brainstorming ways to make my videos even more captivating. Let's keep the energy high! Any ideas, please?

What did you do at the weekend? Did you think about or create content?

Do you need some motivation or maybe five ideas to help you to get some content out this week?

I was out doing street theatre yesterday so recorded this video when I got home. Watch until the end to see me and my comrades do a quick piece to the camera!!

In this video, I give you FIVE content ideas and in each topic, I break that down further so that you can come up with some content to help drive your brand.

💚 Become front of mind

💛 Share interesting facts

💚 Let people know the real you

💛 Get new connections

💚 Get new leads

It all takes time, but it all starts with a strategy and creating content.

But not every day and NEVER multiple times a day on LinkedIn.

Just be consistent.

If you want a hand or have any questions, then I have a free drop-in today. It starts at 10:00am. DM me if you want to come along, or find my events page.

Good luck with your content and let me know how you get on.

What will you write about today?

TUESDAY 8 August 2,727 impressions

Tuesday brought something interesting to my attention – a fresh feature on LinkedIn called Embedded Artificial Intelligence. This was a great gift from LinkedIn to give me something to talk about eh? The new feature will use AI to draft posts for you. AI is fantastic, but having it write our content might make us all sound the same. Authenticity, anyone?

So, to get the conversation rolling, I shared a screenshot of this new feature, layered with a picture of me yelling to add some flair and personality. The caption was a question: "The new LinkedIn embedded artificial intelligence feature – good or bad idea?"

This was a great post and sparked quite a discussion! Do you use AI yet?

Is the new Linkedin Embedded Artificial Intelligence feature a good or bad idea?

I personally think it's a bad idea, but what about you?

Let's be real, AI can be awesome.

I love that AI can help us to do more and give us some more ideas, but to drop it straight into LinkedIn I feel is a step too far. 🤦‍♂️

Here's why I encourage people to stay away from AI

💚 When you create content, you speak in your unique voice.

💛 Your writing helps people know the real you.

💚 You are more human and relatable

💛 It makes you stand out.

💚 It gives personality.

But here's where I encourage people to use AI?

💛 Use transcripts to create and repurpose your content

💚 Generate SEO ideas to add to your content

💛 Get ideas for creating content

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

What does my go-to AI Expert, Nadin Thomson reckon?

Have you used it yet? Are you using any AI in your business?

WEDNESDAY 9 August 2,221 impressions

Wednesday was all about stirring up a conversation. I'm all about teaching you how to optimise your profile on LinkedIn. But I've noticed some people saying that you need loads of SEO on your profile.

My take is different, we should make our profiles personable and genuine, not just stuffed with keywords. So, I crafted a poll to figure out if I'm the odd one out, valuing authenticity over SEO.

Starting strong with a captivating hook, I added bullet points to keep things clear, and then ended with a question: "How did you find your super connection?" The poll was titled "How Did You Find Your Super Connection?" I threw in options like "stumbled," "tagged," "specific search," and of course, the ever-important "other."

This was engaging and gives me another topic to follow up with next week.

If you want some feedback, create a poll!

How did you find that cool connection that you have on LinkedIn?

What made you connect with your new friend or advisor?

LinkedIn is more than just a job site or somewhere to sell your wares.

It's a Social Network.

A great place for

💚 Meeting new and interesting people

💛 Developing long-term friendships

💚 Finding those superstars

💛 Learning new things

But how do you find people?

Do you utilise the search features of LinkedIn or did you just stumble across these wonderful people who you now call friends?

Did they come from a comment where someone tagged you because they thought you'd like the post?

Did you see someone shouting out a wonderful connection, or did you find this person because they were highlighted in a comment?

Or did you just resonate with something that they said in a post or a comment on another r post?

It's amazing to think of all the wonderful people I know on LinkedIn and try to remember how I found them.

I really don't think that any of them was from me doing a specific search for a specific person.

Am I abnormal, or have you found people by accident too?

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

How did you find your super connection?

THURSDAY 10 August 1,792 impressions

Thursday was all about answering some questions, but also teasing that I have a new idea to help people. I've been asked to lead a mastermind for accountants, and I needed your insights. So, I asked a simple question: What does a mastermind mean to you?

People want to help, it’s in our nature. So just by reaching out and asking, I got a great response. It's a reminder that our community holds incredible knowledge, and sparking conversations among like-minded professionals can lead to real gems of wisdom.

Don't hesitate to seek advice from your audience – it's like tapping into a treasure trove!

Here’s today's post about Masterminds.

Can you help me, please? What is a MASTERMIND to you?

Do you belong to one, or maybe even more? Do they help you and more importantly.....

What makes a good mastermind?

I've been asked to create a mastermind by one of my regular coaching clients and I want to get it right.

I want people to get loads of benefits from such a thing.

So I'm creating a pilot as an experiment. It's going to be by invitation only and will be a group of like-minded Accountants.

Accountants who want to

💚 Meet regularly online and share thoughts

💛 Understand more about what works

💚 Talk about their concerns

💛 Explore best practices

💚 Maybe even a moan

💛 Have a laugh

💚 Collaborate

Why do you love your mastermind? Give a shout-out to the awesome masterminds that you know.

What else should I be including in this pilot?

FRIDAY 11 August 641 impressions

Fridays are all about gratitude. I believe in celebrating the positive moments, and what better way to do that than by sharing what we're grateful for? This post gives you all a chance to give a shout-out and reflect on the week's highs.

This week, the response warmed my heart – 20 reactions, 47 comments, and even 2 shares. While the impressions stood at 641, the real value goes beyond numbers. It's about connecting, appreciating, and spreading positivity. And even though engagement might be on the lower side, I'm committed to this Friday ritual because it's a chance to unite and uplift each other.

What have done that brought you gratitude this week?

Are you celebrating those little wins? Or what about giving a shout-out to that special person who made your week brilliant?

Every Friday I love to shout out my gratitude. Things like having my Daughter stay, along with her hubby and son.

Or just making it to Friday.

What are you grateful for?

⭐️ 🥳 🙏 𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊𝐒. 🙏 🥳 ⭐️

Every Friday I share my gratitude and thanks to all the fantastic people who have been brilliant during the week.

Whom do you want to thank this week? 🙏

Here are a few of the super people who've made my week one to remember.

It's been Folk Week in Sidmouth this week so I have had a blast. Having fun with the Sidmouth Mummers and playing music with my gigs. I have another gig this evening at 5:00 with Will Vine at The Volunteer. Then it's the Torchlit Procession at 10:00. Sleep tomorrow!!

On Wednesday the awesome Paul Siely invited me and my son-in-law over to the Landrover Experience where we drove the latest Landrover Defender. It basically drove us, going through the woods at all kinds of angles, such an impressive car. Thank you Paul 🙏 ✅ Great day!!! I also met a couple of local superstars too, can you guess who?

I've had some great meetings too and I'm working with an organisation to get another speaking gig and also managed to get picked to be on a panel at Accountex North with Phil Hobden and a host of Social Media Superstars!!

💚 Who are you going to shout out for making your week complete?

💛 How has your week been, are you Grateful?

💚 What did you get up to?

What are my thoughts on this week?

My goal is to always get about a thousand impressions per post and as you can see from this breakdown not all of those have worked as well. But I have had some great responses to my content!

I have done more comments too which also helps the algorithm share more of my content. And gets me noticed more.

Do you comment enough? Its where the magic is.

How was your week?

Here is the breakdown.

Previous week

Last week saw a turn of the tide again. But last week was incredible, so it was going to happen. Impressions down by 29% to 16,057 Engagements were also down by a massive 38%. The previous we

This week

This week has been a better week. After a downward slide the previous week my content has picked up, mainly because I had a great start with my video on Monday Impressions up by 2% to 17,694 and engagements up by Engagements were also up by 4% to 678.
